The Art of Pasta Making

Taught at the Allston-Honan Library, February 2023

“In this hands-on class, you will learn how to make two types of pasta from scratch: a traditional egg pasta and a fluffy gnocchi. Michelle will guide you through the process of mixing the dough, rolling, and shaping it using simple kitchen tools and classic pasta-making gadgets.

At the end of class, you will leave with your own freshly made pasta, ready to cook at home. You will also receive simple recipes for sauces and the pasta recipes to make more in the future, so you can continue your pasta-making journey long after the class ends.”

One of the first cooking classes that the library offered, this class filled almost immediately!

We had 20 participants who all stirred, squished, and rolled their way to perfect pasta. They all took home a small pizza box with their homemade treats inside to cook at home. We did a “taste test” of the two types of pasta at the end of the class.
